About Diamonds: The Four C's
Clarity
Diamonds are graded according to their degree of clarity, with the finest referred to as "flawless": free of inclusions and imperfections when viewed through 10 x magnification.

Diamonds which show very, very slight imperfections, detected through 10 x magnification, are designated as "VVS." Diamonds with minor inclusions are assigned "VS".
Diamond with inclusions that are easily seen under ten times magnification but not with the naked eye are designated "SI" clarity.
Finally, those diamonds with visible inclusions are assigned "Imperfect" or “Pique” ratings. Diamonds over .47ct should have their clarity grading subdivided in to 1 or 2, i.e. VS1 is better than VS2.
